Overview
We work in collaboration with Physical Education (PE) programs throughout the state to provide a fun, safe space for students to explore the game of lacrosse. We believe in applying Social Emotional Learning techniques to create a fun, competitive, yet “mistake friendly” environment that fosters creativity and growth. By playing progressive, small-sided lacrosse games, our students are challenged to think outside the box while developing as individuals.
Before the PE program begins, we collaborate with the PE teacher to learn about their classroom norms, teaching techniques and individual students. For example, we like to incorporate the classroom’s daily routines into our programming to ensure the students come to class ready to participate.
At the end of the program, we give every child information about their local youth lacrosse program for them to enjoy the sport outside of the classroom.
Below you will find information about the goals, equipment, core concepts and what a typical lesson looks like.
