Woodchuck Speed Lacrosse

Speed Lacrosse is a unique developmental model designed to create a fun, safe, and fast brand of lacrosse. Speed lax is played with 3x3 goals on a field roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no “goalies” in speed lacrosse. Games are played 3v3 (sometimes 4v4 depending on numbers). Everyone plays offense and defense. Teams can choose to put one player in goal and play a man down on defense, or pressure at even strength.

There is no stick-checking allowed in speed lacrosse, regardless of gender. Defense is played through body position and knocking down/intercepting passes.  Speed lacrosse is played with a tennis ball or a pinkie to allow players to not wear pads and have the game remain safe.

Woodchuck Lacrosse Development Inc. provides multiple Speed Lacrosse pick-up sessions and tournaments throughout the year as fundraising events to provide free P.E. and Afterschool lacrosse programming. Offered at multiple locations, these speed lacrosse sessions and tournaments unite the Vermont lacrosse community in honoring and playing the game we all love at the pace we love. “Fast”.
