League Mission

The mission of the VBLL is to provide lacrosse players exposure to the game of box lacrosse in the State of Vermont at an affordable cost. Our league structure emphasizes player development and growth in a highly competitive, instructional, meaningful and positive environment!

About The League

Woodchuck Lacrosse Development is proud to offer true box lacrosse to youth and high school players in the State of Vermont!! Following the Canadian model, playing box lacrosse in the summer, we have teamed up with the US Box Lacrosse Association (USBOXLA) to ensure that we provide a fun, educational, safe and quality experience for our athletes. The Vermont Box Lacrosse League is a fully sanctioned USBOXLA league. All of our coaches and officials are USBOXLA certified.

Both Youth & High School VBLL sessions will consist of team practices, an exhibition series, a four game regular season and a Championship Tournament. Practice sessions will consist of elite instruction and introduce, emphasize, and reinforce box lacrosse skills and concepts. The VBLL prioritizes player development and individual growth in a safe and positive environment!

Box lacrosse is lacrosse played 6v6 (5 runners and a goalie) in a hockey rink when the ice is melted or covered. Traditionally, box lacrosse is played on a concrete or tile surface. Some box lacrosse arenas have a turf playing surface (more common at the professional level).

We are fortunate to have two arenas, each with their own unique environments and contrasting playing surfaces. The North Barre Rink is an outdoor box lacrosse arena with a grass playing surface. The Memorial Sports Center is and indoor box lacrosse arena with a treated concrete playing surface. Both rinks are fully equipped with a scoreboard, two shot clocks, and box lacrosse goals.
